Curb Your (Cubs) Enthusiasm

Subtle trepidation growing within your soul with every predictionmagazine cover and sportsbook claiming the Cubs can and will do the unthinkable? There’s no need to yell. I already understand how this piece will make you feel, so let’s get the caveats out of the way immediately. This is the most talented Cubs team on paper that I’ve ever seen. They should win the Central Division, if all goes well. I don’t believe in curses, voodoo magic, or any other such nonsense. I just can’t shake it; the helium surrounding the city of Chicago is starting to seep into to my brain.

Memories of Cubs’ Opening Day’s Gone By

imageSo, I love Opening Day for baseball season. It reminds me of being a kid, just getting into baseball for the first time. I’m taking you back to the year 2000, when the Cubs were opening up the Major League Baseball season with the New York Mets in Japan. They had a two-game series with the Mets prior to flying back to the United States to take on the St. Louis Cardinals, and it’s the first Opening Day game I can remember vividly watching as a young Cubs fan.

Why Don’t People Like Hillary Clinton?

I’ve struggled at times with my political leanings. I’m the kind of person that likes to fact check everything he reads on Facebook, hears on the radio, or is told second hand based on what some dumbass said on Fox News. I hate the idea of supporting something based on bad information. As someone that used to lean to the right, then moved toward the libertarian, then stopped describing himself that way when the Tea Party idiots redefined what it is to be libertarian, and finally settled into what I can only describe as “a progressive,” I’ve never been a fan of Hillary Clinton.
